About the artist
KI JU
The European-Asian jazz vocalist Ki Ju was born in Germany and moved to the Netherlands at the age of 9. While attending high school at CSB (Christelijke Scholengemeenschap Buitenveldert), she got accepted to the preliminary year at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2007 to be a professional jazz vocalist. A few of the many vocal teachers she has had throughout her study are Eileen Fiss, Sylvie Lane, Lydia van Dam and Gé Titulaer. In may 2012, she got her bachelor degree in Jazz Vocals. Since her move to Korea in september 2012, she has made a guest appearance on the TV program EBS Space and at the Ulsan Jazz Festival, alongside Park Yong kyu Quartet. She has also performed with one of the greatest European jazz pianists Rob van Bavel and his trio The Ghost, the King and I at the Seongnam art centre.
